Google Fit from Google is a convenient app for tracking your workouts and staying in shape. Whether you run, walk or on your bike, the app makes it easy to keep track of your fitness objectives even in real time. Know your pace, speed, route and keep on moving.

Once you’ve installed the app, you have to input your age, gender, weight, height, etc. The app uses this information to check your physical condition and provide proper feedback. It uses motion sensing technology and GPS to determine your movements to measure it against your goal.

The interface is intuitive, and it’ll show you how many hours, minutes and seconds you have been active. You can also choose a goal: take 10,000 steps, be active for 30 minutes, run 3 times a week or create your own activity. Just tap the one you like and the app does the rest.

If you choose 10,000 steps for instance, Google Fit displays how many steps are left and how active you have been. Other helpful information like your weight and other details are included. The same amount of details are available in other activities, so if you choose mountain biking, you’ll see the active time, calories burned, average speed, distance covered and total time.

Google Fit runs fine as an Android app, but you can also use it on Google Wear as well. No matter how you decide to use it, there’s no question this is a useful app and makes a huge difference for your health.
