Monoh is a  quiet, trippy and sweet sounding band from Spain. Although it’s hard to gather up information about these guys, their debut EP is quite interesting. It’s full of melodic trip-hop pop sounds that makes you think of a happier Sneaker Pimps.

Their collection of 5 tracks in their EP showcase very sweet vocals, all playing against a diversity of weird instruments. The compilation is filled with a range of sounds from happy, slightly danceable music to somber and dark atmospheres. If you like trip hop with a touch of sweetness, then take a listen to this EP.

Porno EP is under a creative commons license and is available for download in Jamendo, right here on Frostclick or from the group’s Myspace Page. Porno EP opens with perhaps the most upbeat track of the bunch Misstres (sic) Queen. This one features funky guitar work and melodic backup vocals. Sung in English, there are spoken words in another language in some parts of the cut. It’s like 50s beach music with a weird, electronic twist. This track is followed by the sultry, sexy single, And she came. The slow feel of the song is beautiful. It’s accompanied by a downtempo but prominent bassline and melancholic piano work.

On the Loose is another dreamy track that starts off with a quiet nightclub atmosphere. The vocals are still beautiful and endearing, reminiscent of Beth Gibbons. There’s a weird electronic break in some parts of the song, helping to break apart the monotony of the track. Finally, So, breath (12×8) caps off the collection. Like most oft the cuts, this one also has that indie experimental streak. The breaks are gorgeously inculcated allowing the track to serve as the perfect background music for a quiet, moody afternoon.

Overall, if you love moody, trippy music with a touch of quirky experimental grooves, then you’ll find this band worth listening to.
