Ormie

He is fat, pink, and has an adorable snout. He has everything you are looking for in a pig. But by the end of this short film, you will surely contest that Ormie the pig is more than just delightful and charming written all over him. For the whole length of the short, watch Ormie as he launches numerous attempts in pursuit of his love – a jar filled with cookies. And what does a pig got to do in the face of food? Take it down and gobble it. It is not that easy a task; but, Ormie is not your ordinary pig in a pen.

MADE BED

Liberate some love in Made Bed, a five-minuter short that combines voice and vision. Written and directed by Kevin Oestenstad, this litte piece of visual masterpiece conveys raw emotion about courage, life, and great men. Mainly using narration, the filmmakers takes us on a tour that savors on picturesque images and brilliant shots. Much is given credit to Kevin Oestenstad and Tony Swaney's acting prowess. The undeniable talent that they have showcased served as the backbone for such a polished film.

Metro

Gentle yet compelling, Metro by Jacob Wyatt is a beautiful animation that will take you to surreal worlds and parallel universes. This four-minuter student film at the Bringham Young University shows the adventure of a girl through the city's underground passageway as she follows a mysterious fox that snatched her metro ticket. Wyatt certainly has a handle on his craft. He makes good use of soft tones, watercolor visuals, and subtle pacing to evoke a feel-good and heart warming emotion. The selective framing and composition abstracts adds texture to the short, adding spice to a linear narrative.

Jericho: On His Biggest Heartbreak

Written and directed by Liam Gavin, this award-winning film Jericho follows the journey of a man who was losing his own life as his wife just lost hers out of a medical condition. You may find yourself empathizing for this man as you feel the sadness in his silence. The brilliance of the acting and direction are projected as you look at his face–the age, loneliness, and desperation.

Sea Bites

Explore the thin line between bravery and death in Sea Bites, a 12-minute documentary by David Berain under enpiedeguerra, a group of multimedia reporters. The film tells the story of Serxo and his comrades as they try to gather goose barnacles, an expensive delicacy famous for its sea-like taste. With only a rope tied to their bodies, the fishermen hang on large rocks braving the merciless beating of huge waves.

One Step Forward

At first you wonder why this film won the 48 hour film project, was selected to be shown at the Cannes Film Festival, and gathered awards like the judges had no choice. It began, after all, with plain looking person who appears happy yet dirty and in his long sleeved polo shirt and slacks. That is of course until you reach that part that made your heart skip a bit.
