Team Fortress Arcade

Team Fortress Arcade is a retro side scrolling demake created by Eric Ruth and inspired by the popular online shooter from Valve, Team Fortress 2. Ruth has been known to take big name titles and giving it his own spin. He's the same guy who created side scroller versions of Halo and Left4Dead and even an 8-bit remake of DJ Hero. This cool sidescroller has been winning raves from fans of the original game as well as those that are just discovering it. Like the original, the developer promises to include an online multiplayer function later on but for now players will have to settle with sharing their keyboard with a friend if they want to play co-op mode.

N (Metanet Software)

One of the most addictive and sometimes frustrating game you can ever play, N is an award winning title that involves tons of jumping, climbing, running and all those other cool ninja skills. The game was created by Metanet Software back in 2005 and won the audience choice award for the Independent Games Festival that same year. Today, the game has spawned a console (multiplayer) version for the Xbox Live Arcade, the Nintendo DS and the PSP titled, N+. N was originally offered as a flash game but you can download it now onto your computer. There's a version available for the Mac, Linux and of course, Windows system.

Keys of a Gamespace

Keys of a Gamespace might seem like an odd title for a video game but it's actually very appropriate for this one. Developed by a group of people from the University of Metz in France, the game explores a new take on gaming by using it as a tool for gaining understanding by putting you in someone else's shoes. The game sees you in the footsteps of a man trying to make sense of his past. Your job is to help him put together his memories by solving puzzles in each level. Each step gets you closer to unraveling what he has kept hidden in his subconsious. It's an intriguing game that's equipped with a unique storyline and an interesting gameplay.

Poton

Are you a fan of the Bomberman series? Poton gives you something to be happy about if you are. This cool, Japanese arcade game features a similar gameplay to classics like Pacman or Bomberman. Playing it will definitely bring in a lot of nostalgia for most old school gamers. Like most classic games, this one has a very simple gameplay to master. It basically consists of you being inside a maze and doing what you can to kill off the enemy one by one. The game has a very entertaining and quite addictive gameplay; a feature that most classic games have mastered.

Candy Train

If you were into PopCap games back then, then you must have remembered Candy Train at some point. This simple but entertaining game was a staple on the PopCap roster. In fact, it was even available as a flash game on their website. Fast forward to now and this addictive game is available as a free download for the iPhone and iPad. The game was released under PopCap's "indie label," 4th & Battery where they promised to deliver edgier and experimental games. I'm not so sure if you can call Candy Train edgy or experimental but one thing's for sure, it definitely has the charm of a PopCap title: making you want to do nothing but keep playing.

iBall3D

iBall3D is actually the latest remake of the old classic game, Labyrinth. Instead of the old graphics, you get an updated gameplay and the game in full 3D. Gameplay is similar though; you need to guide a ball from one point of the map to another. The game was created by Stone Trip, and it features great graphics as well as excellent gameplay that will get players hooked into playing it. If you follow the latest iOS games quite faithfully, then you must have stumbled across Forget-Me-Not. This exciting game has been winning praises and scoring countless of minions ever since its initial release. Unfortunately, the game came with a price -$1.99 a pop at the iTunes App store - and was only offered for iOS devices, well, that is until recently. Yep, the game is now available for download for Windows and Mac users. Plus, it's all for free! One Curious Nightfall

One Curious Nightfall is a short but very interesting game that's coupled with one awesome soundtrack. The game is beautiful and definitely worth checking out and experiencing for yourself. In the game, there are several rooms that you need to explore, with each room holding a surprise of its own. Gameplay is quite simple and the graphics is 2D but it's still pretty amazing. It's a bit short so don't expect to get too attached with the game since it might be over even before you start getting a feel for it.
