Amid the political instability happening at Ukraine’s capital, Kiev might have produced one of the year’s most promising bands: Singleton.

The quintet’s formation goes back a decade earlier, where they started building a name in the forefront of Ukraine’s indie scene via their raw sound. This has allowed them to tour across the country, the neighboring Russia and Belarus, and even Germany.

Now, as they partner up with Go Loud Records, Alina Fedorova and the gang continue their journey towards worldwide stardom through stand-out releases such as their latest one, Uncovered.

In the free, 5-track edition of the album at Jamendo, our hungry ears were greeted by vibrant electric guitar strums on the opening track, “Breathe In Breathe Out.”

Alina’s prominent Slavic accent works with the grit of the songs’ lyrics, especially as the thump-inducing beats of “Drown” and the progressive arrangement of the staff favorite, “Surprises” kick into gear.

Try it. You won’t regret giving this record a spin.
