If you thought you've heard the title somewhere before, well, you probably have. Manos: The Hands of Fate is actually a game based on a horror film of the same title. The original movie was written, produced and directed by Harold Warren. Now, the movie didn't actually set well with most of the public. In fact, according to Wikipedia, it's considered to be one of the worst films ever. So, how does a game based on a "horrible" movie fare? Surprisingly, it's not that bad. Of course, I do have my reservations on fully recommending the game. After all, it's hard to distance yourself if you are remaking a game based on a film that's generally held as "awful" by a huge portion of the public. Nevertheless, it's quite decent and interesting to play at best. Give it a try.

Paper Dreams

Incessantly compared to Ad Nauseum 2, Paper Dreams is an entertaining handrawn shooter from Zack Banack. The game features three difficulty levels, but even the "Easy" option will test out even the most patient gamers. This shooter was created for the GameJolt Weekend Jam and was done in basically two days. Despite the short creation period, the game is insanely difficult to even finish. According to the developer's site, the game is ported to flash by Kristian Macanga. If you're up for a good challenge, then you might want to give this one a go and see if you can even finish one level.

If you loved strategy games like, Risk, back in the day; you might find a new bestfriend in the presence of Lux Touch. This is only the lite version of Lux Deluxe but you'll find that it's more than enough to give you a great time. The game sees you looking to take over the world by expanding and owning continents. It features simple but colorful graphics, a somewhat complex gameplay (especially for those who have not tried Risk before) and a cool interface that's heightened by the touch function of the iPad and iPhone screen. Worth trying out if you love any type of conquest game. The best part is, it's all available for free.

Probability 0 will definitely have you at your wits end. The game is a downward platform game that surprisingly has very little to do with probability but offers tons of options for you to experiment and explore. Levels of the game are randomly generated so you never get the same thing twice. Well, at least not all the time. The game was created by Droqen, a TIGForums member. The idea behind the game is that instead of a health bar, your status is represented by a number. You start off in the double digits and as you descend and fight off baddies; the number decreases. It goes down considerably if you take a hit. It's your job to stay alive, fight off the enemies and keep the number from hitting a zero. This simply means that your probability of staying alive is zilch. Give it a try, it's definitely worth your while.

Initially developed back in 1999, Blood of the Chameleon is a text based game worth checking out. It was created by Thomas Lipschultz and described as "a uniquely historical" role playing game. The game does feel a bit "ancient" compared to newer and fresher games but this doesn't mean that it's not worth playing. Your main objective when playing is to kill the evil "Chameleon." However, in order to do so, you need to find and destroy four tears that can only be found by exploring the lands. Everything in this game feels like a classic. You even have to control the game via the number keypad. Go ahead and give this a try.

Assassin Blue

Assassin Blue is a cool action-platformer done by Banov. Like most games done by this cool developer, the game is quite interesting and fun to play. You get to control a little dude, named Blue, and traverse 12 levels, fighting and slashing enemies. Some of these enemies include dinosaurs in the sand, by the way. The entire game is done in 2D and features really tight gameplay and funny dialogue. Like most of Banov's games (Dubloon, Wolf or Crazy Over Goo), this one is extremely interesting and definitely worth your while. It has tons of awesome sword and boss fights as well as a good number of unlockable levels that you can enjoy. Desktop Dungeons is a cool puzzle, RPG game that will definitely keep you coming back for more. The game features simple and basic gameplay that can last for about 10-15 minutes at a time. However, there are rogue-like elements and surprises that help keep players keep coming back for more. This awesome dungeon crawler lets you to explore different dungeons. Each level is randomly generated so it keeps everything quite interesting. The gameplay is simple but don't be fooled, it's a tough game to master. Surprisingly, it's this juxtaposition of basic and complex that makes the game addictive and engaging. It''s even garnered a fanbase and various forums have sprouted in discussing the various parts of the game like exchanging spells, tactics etc. A game worth checking out.

Fract is Myst-like game where you are immersed in this wonderful Tron inspired world. You solve puzzles and explore this glorious colorful world. The game consists of point and click controls making it quite interesting and unique. The game was developed by Richard Flanagan and among the finalists for the 2011 IGF Student Showcase Finalist. Fract is done entirely in 3D and features a really atmospheric world that takes away the player and immerses him into it.
