Aucan: Black Rainbow Remixes

Making another big splash here on Frostclick, Aucan returns with a new and exciting free release. Their previous album, Black Rainbow, which was featured here on the blog has been received with arms wide open. To date, it has reached more than 100, 000 downloads (and still counting.) Aucan is a three piece, unconventional live electronics band that has been steadily gaining plenty of ground with their sound. Actually, it's not just their sound but also their live performances that have been generating quite a buzz. This latest release, Black Rainbow Remixes contains 11 remixed tracks; delivered fresh by the savvy trio and available for free in exchange for a tweet, a Facebook shout or your email address.

Opus Orange: Reinventions EP

A short and sweet teaser EP, Reinventions contains only 4 tracks. Regardless, this is more than enough to make you want to find out more about the band. Opus Orange is actually a personal project by long time music mixer Paul Bessenbacher. It took him some time to finally release this short compilation as he focused on his main work of helping bands mix their own sound. Judging from the gems in this EP, he really should find more time recording and releasing his own material. Featuring beautiful indie folk pop, the EP is a real treat. It's upbeat, catchy and highly enjoyable.

Counting Prince, Lauryn Hill and her classically trained mom as influences; singer/songwriter Elle B, certainly knows how to make gorgeous R&B tinged tracks that'll make you want to listen all night long. Her soulful voice is reminiscent of song sirens of the yesteryears, allowing her to gain a wider audience each time she's performing. Until the Light of Day is her latest release and follows up her successful debut, the Elle B. EP. The record comes with 9 free tracks/demos recorded between 2007 to 2010.

Maximus York: Freedomtown EP

Deep bass, wild party synths and smooth disco feel; this amazing compilation is courtesy of Los Angeles native, Santiago Calogero. Better known under the alias, Maximus York; Freedomtown EP is his latest release. It comes with four free tracks that you can download and check out. Combining a flurry of beats and some upbeat thumping bass, the songs seem perfectly destined for any hot nightspot where dancing is the main topic.

Monarchs is a surprising band that people who enjoy hip hop, alternative and soul should take note of. The group is led by the sultry and sexy Southern belle, Celeste Griffin. Currently based in Austin, Texas; the singer has several backing musicians that help complete her crew. Together, they combine to create a powerful and soulful sound complete with catchy beats and samples. Ft. Celeste is their latest record. Practically a regular here in the Frostclick blog, Wordsmith returns with a brand new Mixtape, Prelude To the King. True to form, the album is a great display of smooth beats, catchy rhythm, as well as awesome mic skills from Word and crew. There's really no need to argue whether this mixtape is worth your time. Pretty much anything Wordsmith has released has always held the bar high enough to warrant a listen and eventually a download.
