Fan Fiction: The Redbirds

Seattle is home to a number of great performers and festivals (as Bumbershoot Music & Arts Festival) worthy of an extended stay. And now Fan Fiction can be easily added to this long list of musical goodness. Released in July of 2011, The Redbirds, is a collection of five beautiful tracks filled with rock and roll guitars, spot on vocals, and the great laid back sound; a combination that surely makes this one an indie rock release not to be missed.

Poton

Are you a fan of the Bomberman series? Poton gives you something to be happy about if you are. This cool, Japanese arcade game features a similar gameplay to classics like Pacman or Bomberman. Playing it will definitely bring in a lot of nostalgia for most old school gamers. Like most classic games, this one has a very simple gameplay to master. It basically consists of you being inside a maze and doing what you can to kill off the enemy one by one. The game has a very entertaining and quite addictive gameplay; a feature that most classic games have mastered.

Flyafter: Today I’m With You

Flyafter is a Jakarta based band specializing in producing "beautiful pop melodies carving their way through a dreamlike foggy electronic soundscape." Part of 23 Seconds Netlabel, Today I'm With You is the band's (Rully Fahrezzyf, Hannan Jaya Mahardika, and Rully Luandri) second release after the more acoustic sounds of the self-titled EP. In their music, Flyafter combines various elements beginning from electronic, acoustic, to techno, shoegaze, indietronic, and pop. Although the band has been performing around Jakarta for quite some time now it was not until 2010, with the release of their first EP, that their music crossed continents for the very first time.

Superman: The Mechanical Monsters (1941)

Superman: The Mechanical Monsters (1941) can be termed as an all time classical era of the superhero. Like always, Superman in this particular series is also out there to protect Metropolis from the many arch-rivals always trying to destroy the peace of the world. The opening scene is the typical Superman signature style, with people shouting "Up in the sky" ,"Look, its a bird", "Its a plane", "Its Superman" accompanying this opening scene is drum-rolls and trumpets taking you to the old school of cartoon making techniques. What would really catch the viewers attention would be the way Superman is shown in the cartoon. Quite hilarious, at-least that is the case with people of 2011.

Pucca’s Restaurant

Pucca's Restaurant is one of those game that's so hard to put down. Not only does it feature a familiar (and quite popular) character, it also incorporates great gameplay to the mix. The game puts you in the shoes of a cute little Korean girl who is aspiring to become one of the best chefs around. You start off as a mere underling and have to work your way up the ladder in a 5-star restaurant. You can slowly reach your goal by keeping customers happy and serving them great dishes. Like most sim games, this one provides tons of fun features. Worth checking out if you'd like something to get busy with during your spare time.
