MixGalaxy’s Various Artists 2:22 – amazing 22-track conceptual album

This is a second official compilation from MixGalaxy Records. "This time authors have been given a task to create full music composition strictly 2 minutes and 22 seconds long, while being completely free in genre choice. This means, once again, that this album is followed by wide variety of moods and music styles. Besides musicians represented on the first release, several new names are introduced here. And yes total number of tracks is 22. Enjoy!"

Free iTunes Holiday Sampler – just for one week

It's not our policy to write about iTunes free releases, becuase they are for a short time only, but we think this one is worth it. Plus - nobody will be downloading Holiday music in January anyway... It's a full-blown 20-track sampler album with something for everyone. It includes some religious Christmas songs, some holiday-spirit classics and some funny tongue-in-cheek tracks by artists like Sarah McLachlan, Barry Manilow, Toby Keith, Weezer, Stephen Colbert, Aretha Franklin and others.

WM x 100 / 100 x WM – the 100th album from WM recordings

WM Recordings have put up a number of worthy artists for the past five years releasing only free albums and all under Creative Commons license. They celebrate the label's 5th birthday, 100 free albums and nearly 1000 free tracks with the release of their 100th album. WM x 100 / 100 x WM is even more special because it's a compilation album filled with a wide array of genres and recorded by musicians from all over the world. We see it as a sort of a tribute to WM Recordings - the net label that proved that free music is good music and it's good to share it with your friends!

Keith Morris & The Crooked Numbers “Live Candy”

The neat thing about the net label Clinical Archives is that I never know quite what I am going to hear. After all, who would have thought that mixed in with all the avant-garde, electronica, and experimental music would be this very down-home country EP that reeks of dogwood, cicadas and Hank Williams. Live Candy gives us a very live and very authentic country honky-tonk experience that defines the terms “Alt-country” and “Americana”.

JPFM Band / Fox Band “Paris S.F.” – smooth jazz fusion

As the world continues to evolve, it isn't shocking that music also develops through time - and JPFM band and Fox band further proves that. Combining smooth jazz with hints of RnB, funk, trip-hop and lounge, Paris S.F. is not your typical instrumental smooth jazz compilation. Composed of 2 'faces,' Paris S.F. may not give you a long playtime, but it will definitely appeal to jazz, blues and jazz fusion lovers.

Mental Killing Spree “Vae Victis” – free death-metal album under Creative Commons

I’ve got to tell you - that thing ain’t no blues. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’ve got an impression that death metal bands avoid Creative Commons and focus more on the good old underground zine-net and gigs ways of promoting their music... Two thumbs up for Mental Killing Spree for bravery and offering their first album as a free download and under CC! About the music. There is a quite engaging mixture of a harder side of thrash and a lighter side of death metal here. Riffs aren’t extremely melodic - it’s not Metallica, and no Amon Amarth either - but they’re melodic enough to keep a listener interested.

J.E.L.L.i. EP – A diverse indie/hardrock EP fused with a playfull twist

Sometimes, you find yourself thinking that most Rock-inspired artists are humorless, noisy, and full of grudge. Well, true, but it’s very comforting to find out that there are few artists that may have attached their music to Hard Rock, but still knows how to be playful and witty. J.E.L.L.i. released his self-titled EP last September 9, 2009. This album is packed with 5 tracks that will blow your world. Featured tracks in this EP may be inspired of Rock origins. Licensed under Creative Commons, this EP is one amazing project that can either push or pull your emotions.
