Exceptional Edward: Lost at Sea

It's not Ben Gibbard! Exceptional Edward's vocalist does sound a lot like him though. And even though their first debut album, Lost at Sea, may not be released under Deathcab's name, it certainly sounds promising. Lost at Sea from Exceptional Edward was released some time in 2008. Serving as their full length debut, after releasing, The Exceptional EP. The album is filled with swelling acoustic rhythms infused with poppy, sweet vocals.

Creaky Old Memory

Creaky Old Memory is a beautifully rendered platformer that's a bit creepy in terms of storyline but still quite interesting to play. As Tatiana, players are tasked to explore every nook and cranny of the house to help uncover the lead character's past. Solve puzzles and find ways to overcome obstacles. Collect items to help Tatiana remember her past in this artsy yet emotional puzzle game.

Valkaama

Valkaama is a story about fate. Two people who's lives are actually intertwined with each other, end up travelling together in search of a mythical community somewhere in the North of Finland. The title Valkaama is actually derived from two Finnish words, meaning "home" and "polar night." The movie is purely open sourced and licensed under creative commons. It has received countless praises both from online communities as well as local publications. The film is based on a novel by Hendrick Behnisch’s of the same title. Made and shot with no budget and relying heavily on the internet as a means of distribution, the film allows both amateur and professionals to create their own versions of the film with the help of its open source licenses.

Alex Bailey: The Four Seasons

I could've sworn Alex Bailey was simply Damien Rice in disguise! Of course, I was wrong. This talented singer creates beautiful acoustic folk pop music that's meshed with a tinge of classical. If you ever enjoyed downtempo, moody music like Damien Rice's, then this album is definitely right up your alley. Sometimes the similarities are a little too uncanny, but there's no doubt it's still great music. Definitely an artist worth checking out as long as you appreciate acoustic folk pop.

Eversion

Bright turquoise background? Check. Purple blocks? Check. Cute little characters? Check. Meet Eversion, even though it looks like another cutesy platformer game, try playing it and you might be in for a surprise. The game looks deceptively simple thanks to its bright, cheery graphics, but it is pretty difficult to beat and will pretty much mess with your brain. So, if you are in hard core game mode and miss the challenges of a Nintendo game. Eversion is the game to try out.

Nicolas Falcon: Nicolas Falcon

This acoustic, indie folk number from Nicolas Falcon is perfect for a dreamy escapade. Filled with beautiful acoustic swells and laid back vocals, this self titled debut from this Florida musician is a definite keeper. From whistle solos, quirky lyrics to simple upbeat guitar strumming, it's hard not to enjoy this record. It might not break into the Top 40s but it's a beautiful compilation worth listening to.

Social Square: It vs. You

Three piece indie rock band, Social Square, likes to call themselves the "Benjamin Button of indie rock." According to the band, they like to work backwards. When other bands simply mellow down as they age, it seems the band likes to get loud as they grow old. It vs. You is the bands latest mini three song release and features punchy and loud indie rock tracks with a 90s to early 2000 vibe.
